Bob Comish Memorial Scholarship Award

Bob Comish retired to the Blue Mountains in 2001 with his wife Carol and joined the Blue Mountain team. As an accomplished lawyer, he heped bring the Blue Mountain Village vision to life. His lasting contributions include forming the Blue Mountain Village Association and Foundation, both of which continue to support the Village and community.
Bob believed deeply in the youth of our region and worked to ensure the Village would provide long-term employment and development opportunities.
“The seeds of today are the flowers of tomorrow. We need to nurture those seeds,” says Carol Comish.
Each September, the Blue Mountain Village Foundation hosts a charity golf tournament at Monterra Golf to raise funds for local children, youth, and family programs.
- Four $1,500 scholarships to graduates of Collingwood Collegiate Institute, Stayner Collegiate Institute, Georgian Bay Community School, and Our Lady of the Bay Catholic High School.
- One $1,500 scholarship to a Georgian College student (Barrie or South Georgian Bay campus) studying in Office Administration, Business, Hospitality, or Recreation & Tourism.
These scholarships honour Bob Comish’s legacy and support future leaders in tourism and community service.

Scholarship Criteria
- Applications and essays are due April 30 each year.
- Applicants must have worked in the Blue Mountain Village.
- A 500-word essay is required, describing what was learned from the experience and suggesting one improvement for the resort or village community.

The Blue Mountain Village Foundation supports local charitable organizations located in southern Georgian Bay (including Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Stayner, Town of the Blue Mountains, Meaford, Duntroon, Singhampton, Kimberley & Creemore) whose mandate supports youth & families. The Blue Mountain Village Foundation exists to close social gaps in our community, supporting local charitable organizations located in South Georgian Bay (including Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Stayner, Town of the Blue Mountains, Meaford, Duntroon, Singhampton, Kimberley & Creemore). Since inception over 21 years ago, BMVF has raised over $2 million dollars that has been invested back into the community through meaningful and necessary programs and support services.
