Blue Mountain Village Association is dedicated to a more sustainable future
One that protects the natural beauty of the Niagara Escarpment while supporting a thriving, year-round destination. Our commitment to sustainability is focused on responsible growth, thoughtful stewardship, and creating positive impacts for generations to come.

We’re Committed to Doing the Work

We recognize that sustainability is an ongoing journey. While we don’t have all the answers, we are committed to learning, listening, and collaborating with community members, partners, and underrepresented voices. We believe in progress over perfection and continuous improvement.

Blue Mountain Village Association’s Sustainable Tourism Pledge:

  • Demonstrate a clear commitment to improving sustainability performance between now and 2030
  • Consider the full economic, social, and environmental impacts of Village operations and events
  • Address the needs of visitors, local businesses, employees, residents, and the surrounding environment
  • Measure, evaluate, and enhance sustainability efforts on an ongoing basis

Each year, the Village Association commits to identifying opportunities for improvement and setting measurable sustainability goals.

Our Goal:

  • Be a responsible leader in sustainable destination management
  • Create positive impacts that extend beyond the Village—supporting the environment, local economy, and community wellbeing

Through collaboration, transparency, and action, the Blue Mountain Village Association will continue to set meaningful goals and deliver measurable results to help protect the place where we live, work, and welcome visitors.

Recent and Ongoing Sustainability Initiatives:

  • Support for local community organizations and not-for-profit partners through Village events, fundraising initiatives, and promotional opportunities
  • Use of Electric Maintenance Vehicles
  • Committed to retaining nature by thoughtfully curating an environment that reconnects guests with the natural world
  • New Garden Strategy – “Bringing Nature Back”
